Day 17, continued: If only I had gotten hurt so the title of this page made sense
Now we go to a place of pilgrimage. Like Jerusalem, it attracts two very different types of people: Monty Python and the Holy Grail fans and Outlander fans. My preference is true to my demographics.
Most of the castle scenes from MPatHG were filmed at this castle. The audioguide was by Terry Jones, who was very helpful in pointing out what was shot where! The castle was full of nooks and crannies. Oh that makes me think – one interesting thing in the UK is to have English muffins that are made in house, not thawed Thomas’s English muffins. The fresh ones are … not as good. Need those nooks and crannies.
I’m just gonna put up a gallery for this one.

Oh there IS also a distillery in the town of Doune! Deanston. I, unfortunately, arrived too late for a tour or a tasting. I bought a sampler pack to go, though, and when I had it in Stirling it was so good, I bought a fancy bottle of Deanston in Glasgow before I left Alba.
