Westfjords

Iceland still has plenty that I didn’t get to see – I hardly even went east of its midpoint. I had a block of time which I wasn’t sure how to use, and I eventually decided to fly to the Westfjords. I rented a car at the airport and drove around this very unique part of Iceland.

Driving around the Westfjords was intense. True to its name, it is in the west and full of fjords. Roads winded between sheer mountains and, well, fjords.

I went to another museum of old Iceland stuff – but this time, old Westfjords stuff!

Coming back to Ísafjörður:

Just about the coolest thing was going to this island full of birds. Three people lived on the island – the owner, his wife and his daughter. The owner was the tour guide.

Finally saw lots of puffins.

And very many very aggressive terns.
