After some more hot highway pedaling, Freddy and Stan eventually pedaled into Noto. Noto was a different sort of place. The old town was built of a beautiful gorgeous sandstone.

Even more notably, the place was packed with tourists. The pair tried to find a place that didn’t look too touristy, but everywhere on the main street was touristy whether it wanted to be or not – tourists far outnumbered locals. The place they eventually found served a surprisingly tasty meal!

There was still quite a bit of time before the Airbnb would be ready, so Freddy and Stan took their bikes and found palazzos, churches, squares and city halls.

Most of the Noto tourism they did was this first day – Freddy began working again even whilst still in Sicily, so the remaining two days in Noto were far less touristy. They did find some charming places to eat and lovely little grocery where they were happy to sell them some house-made food.
